Nike Cortez Classic – OG Leather Pack
Nike enthusiasts will be happy to know that Nike will be paying homage to one of their classic sneakers, the Cortez. Over the many years Cortez have evolved through various styles, yet this OG Leather Pack reverts the attention back to its first ever model. Two key features, the toe bumper and heel tab, are absent from the current Cortez styles and they have been recreated with precision to please even the die hard vintage Nike fans. Three colorways are prepared in navy, black and gray uppers with white Swoosh detailing the sides. Expect these sneakers to be in store around January 2012 and for those who can not wait, atmos in Tokyo is taking pre-orders right now on their online shop.

Kuntzel + Deygas – MinuSkull Amplified Mini Speakers
Product design should never be so serious and the designers Olivier Kuntzel and Florence Olivier, aka Kuntzel + Deygas, have come up with an interesting audio speaker, the MinuSkull. Don’t let the playful appearance fool you, these speakers mean business and they are able to deliver sounds, while being ornamental like a piece of art or sculpture in a room. The speakers are handmade in France and features two broadband Fostex Fe-83 speakers on its eyes. Underneath, a mini subwoofer is hidden and delivers the bass through a tailor-made Mosfet amplifier. This speaker can be used as a stand alone speaker or matched up to numerous speakers for a home cinema sound system, in which case you would need an extra subwoofer.

Caterpillar x Martine Rose
In the US, Caterpillar is one thing: heavy machinery. In other parts of the world, though, the CAT footwear subdivision has attained an almost Timberland-like status, being a construction-site staple that also makes a street statement. And if rugged CAT footwear hasn’t had much chic appeal stateside, a recent collaboration with British designer Martine Rose just might turn some heads. Rose has made an art (and reputation) out of taking menswear staples and giving them a touch of tech street influence – as in the pinstripe dress shirts with welt-zip chest pockets that her eponymous collection has revolved around this year. For CAT, Rose has given an otherwise brutally rugged workboot a bit of Woolrich-esque feel – with a canvas and wool upper, set off by a nylon buckle strap, these boots are a better match for the UE x Carhartt capsule, or a Rocky Mountain Featherbed vest, than for the worksite.
